Pirelli HangarBicocca is a non-profit foundation, founded in 2004, which has converted a former industrial plant in Milan into a place for producing and promoting contemporary art.
Admission to the Pirelli HangarBicocca exhibition spaces is completely free of charge.
Planning your visit
Pirelli HangarBicocca’s permanent installations and temporary shows are open to the public Thursday to Sunday, 10 am to 10 pm. Last admission to the shows is at 9.15 pm.
Pirelli HangarBicocca’s public services and exhibition spaces are accessible to visitors with limited mobility. Ask at the Info Point at the entrance for a wheelchair and/or folding chair to use in the exhibition spaces.
Strollers and prams may be brought into the space, except when special restrictions apply due to the nature of the works on view. A changing table is also available: just ask the Info Point staff to direct you to it.
There is unattended parking along Via Chiese in the vicinity of Pirelli HangarBicocca. The outdoor spaces at Pirelli HangarBicocca include an area with bike racks.
Dogs and other pets are welcome at Pirelli HangarBicocca and have free access to the lobby, the Bistrot, all outdoor areas and the exhibition space, with the exception of the rooms in the exhibition “Ambienti/Environments” by Lucio Fontana and in the exhibition “The Dream Machine is Asleep” by Eva Kot’átková. For security reasons, dogs must be on a leash.
There is a free Wi-Fi network at Pirelli HangarBicocca.
Visitors are kindly requested to avoid any behavior that might damage the works on view or cause annoyance to others. The Pirelli HangarBicocca security staff may intervene in the event of inappropriate behavior.
Please do not touch the works on view, unless told by the Pirelli HangarBicocca staff that you may do so.
The works on view at Pirelli HangarBicocca are constantly monitored by our staff, who are on hand to provide visitors with any assistance they may need.
Please do not talk on your phone inside the exhibition areas.
Please remember that smoking is not allowed inside the building; this includes vaping (electronic cigarettes).
Food and drink
Food and beverages may not be consumed inside the exhibition areas unless otherwise indicated.
Photos and videos
Photos and/or videos of the Pirelli HangarBicocca space and the works on view may be taken, when not otherwise indicated, for personal, non-commercial use only, following the guidelines laid out in our official policy. Visitors are invited to review these rules and contact the foundation if they have any special requests.
Visitors are kindly requested to leave larger bags and backpacks in the cloakroom lockers in the lobby. This service is free of charge and Pirelli HangarBicocca accepts no liability regarding the theft or loss of anything left in the lockers.
In rainy weather, visitors are kindly requested to leave their umbrellas in the umbrella stands at the entrance.
Cultural mediators are on hand at Pirelli HangarBicocca to tell visitors about the themes and content of the exhibitions and permanent installations, and provide information and assistance.

Special tours/Outside groups
Pirelli HangarBicocca has a special Kids center for boys and girls from four to fourteen and their families; it includes a large children’s library and offers creative activities and workshops every weekend. Information and booking: hangarbicocca.org/en/kids.
“School” is Pirelli HangarBicocca’s free educational program for schools of all kinds and levels, designed to highlight and promote contemporary art. Information and booking: hangarbicocca.org/en/school.
Pirelli HangarBicocca has developed two projects in collaboration with the Department of Educational Sciences at the University of Milano-Bicocca: “Schools and Contemporary Art: New Forms of Participatory Planning,” and “LAB’O: University Guidance through Art Experience.” For more information: hangarbicocca.org/en/university.
The Iuta Bistrot at Pirelli HangarBicocca is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 am to 4 pm, Thursdays to Sundays from 10 am to midnight. Information and booking: hangarbicocca.org/en/cafe-restaurant.
The Bookshop allows visitors to purchase Pirelli HangarBicocca publications, limited editions by the featured artists, and branded merchandise, as well as monographs, essays, and art catalogues.
